This is going to sound quite a bit like any other character creation guide you've read. Just please bear with us and read through it all, there are some important sections that apply to this group.
So, when creating a character there are some many things you need to know. There are the obvious ones you need to include, such as: Name, age, weight, height and such. And then there are the not so obvious things that should also be included. But we are here to help you with that!
NameAll characters have to have a name, right?Now, because some of you vampires are going be quite old, I bet you've forgotten your names
It's understandable, your memories aren't what they used to be, right? You can give an yourself an alias in that case, just like our very own Lyssum!
Many people in the past didn't have a surname, so your character doesn't have to have one either, though that depends on how old you are. You may give your alias a surname if you wish, but its not needed.
AgeYour character had to have been born at some point. But again, because some of you old timers may have forgotten, exact ages are not needed. If you know your exact age, please use that. But the oldies or unobservant people around may not have recorded their age.
Power comes with age, right? So how old are you? Maybe 10? Maybe 900?
The age limit is
900.
Giacinto (being Elder) is the only exception to this rule. If you try to submit a character that is older than 900, we will ask you to change it. Please keep that in mind when creating your characters. Thank you.
Gender Male, female, unknown or banana, we've all got a gender (though I'd be slightly worried if your gender was banana). Some types of vampires or other species are genderless, so you've got the N/A option if you need it. If you have a ability to change and shift to another gender you may tick both boxes and explain in your artist comments.
We have plenty of androgynous characters so if you do not state which you are we may get confused!
Weight and Height Self explanatory. You can use whichever measurements you're comfortable with so there is no worries on converting them.
BirthdayYour character may not remember what year they were born, but they may very well remember the day and month. Or possibly they don’t know either, so instead why not use the date you where created?
Or if you where not created and are a Full/Half vampire, Elf, Necromancer or Lycan then make up a date to celebrate! E.g. The queen of England has two birthdays!
This is not a mayjor necessary but we like to send out birthday messages!

VampireNow, there are quite a few different classifications a vampire may have for this one. As you've seen on the character sheet, there are three main classifications:
Created, Dhampir and Pure.
Created vampires are ones that have been fed from and then fed vampire blood. These are generally weaker than others but having a master, they can be quite loyal.
Dhampir are half vampires. Generally Dhampir are human on their mothers side but having a human farther also works. These are stronger than Created vampires and may have moral issues to being a vampire as they still have half of their humanity left with them... unless they just don't care.
Please specify which parent your human heritage came from.
Pure vampires are those that are pure of blood. Both of their parents were/are vampires. These are the strongest out of the three and are more respected in the area that they have pure blood. But in this mansion, blood does not matter, after all, the leader is a Dhampir!
Of course, there are many different types of vampires around. I have a ginormous Vampire Encyclopaedia sat in front of me threatening to break the table with its weight. You wonderful lot have the internet at your disposal so as a task to see if you are really interested in the group, use it.
Are you an Incubus? Succubus? Adze? Gayal? Be creative - we don't want a whole mansion of once specific type of vampire now do we?
You never know when your individual skills may be called on. (These specific species are not a must)
Personality We all agree that we do not want characters with the personality of a rock. If we wanted that, we'd send Lyssum out to find some rocks and paint some faces on them. Are your characters sweet, shy, sarcastic, mean?
House What house are you in? Aria or Terra?
Aria House is for the fleeting and free of spirit. You don't care much for rules and like to have a good time. Sometimes Aria are a little scatterbrained, but who cares? Giacinto will be your Head of House. We really pity you...
Terra House is for those of you who are very strong willed and determined to stay on course. You're mindful of the rules but will break them if you think that's for the best. Ignicio will guide you on your Terra path.
Rank There are four different ranks in the Mansion:
Elder (These are the leaders of the house)
Chosen Regent (As in the name, these lead and guide each sector and are also given the power to go outside during the day)
High Servant (This rank gives you more power slots as well as access to more powers. It also gives you the chance to upgrade to Sector Leader if there is a spot open)
Servant (Everyone will start off at this rank)
Everyone will start off as a Servant.
This does not mean you get ordered around like a servant! (unless you get caught by Giacinto in a bad mood. Or a good mood... Yeah, she'll order you around. But she means well. I think...)
It is just a title, so please pay it no mind

Sector Give the name of the sector that you are the leader of - though this is only if you're a Sector Leader. If you decided to give yourself a Sector and aren't a Sector Leader, I really hope you can run fast. Giacinto
will come after you.
Pets Do you have a cute furry critter at your heels at all times? Or perhaps something more dangerous? Domesticated animals, wild or mythical - all sorts of pets are welcome. But what's dead should stay dead (unless Lyssum gets to it...) so extinct animals are are no go. Anything else is fine.
Powers If you've been through our gallery you'll have seen those funky wheels and the stones, right? No? That is because the have been removed!
We now simply ask you to write out what powers your character has in the bio of your application. With new species this is much easier.
History Give a brief history of your character. Where are you from? What caused you to run and join our Coven, and such. You'll have the opportunity to write a great long story if you wish but there is also a folder in our gallery for all those who wish to only do a brief history and want to write a full back history later on.
Any Other Interesting Information I'm sure there are some interesting things you want everyone to know about your character that doesn't fit into any of the other categories. Here you can type anything and everything about your character that you want us to know.
The Dont's of CdS Split personalities and Demons possessing your OC. It is not that we do not like them, It is that we have too many! If you want an OC with a split personality maybe try and have more than one OC instead?

How many OCs are allowed ? As many as you can keep up with! Did you know that the founder has around 6?!
Can my OC be another species or is the group limited to only vampires? Yes. We have just allowed three new species to join the group! You can now pick from Vampire, Lycan, Necromancer and Elf!
Is it okay to have a sex crazed blood lusting OC?Yes. Yes it is.
We are all vampires... does that mean we are dead? Not necessarily. Dhampir and Pureblood are alive as they are born. Turned vampires sometimes have a heart beat and other times they do not.
What happens if my character does not wish to drink blood? Then unfortunately, He/She will most likely die. Lack of blood will make your character weak and their powers may not work. If they are unable to defend themselves, they will die.
What time period/world/country does CdS take place in? CdS is set in modern day earth so you don't have to limit yourself to older times. The mansion is currently in Italy.
Can vampires walk in the sun? NO! Nononononononononono!! Do you have a death wish?! No vampire can stroll around in the sun and survive. Depending on how your character was born (Turned, Half, etc.) you may last for a few seconds to a few minutes.
Is there a way they could walk in the sun? Not unless you are a Chosen Regent. When you are promoted to Chosen Regent you are gifted with your own Lapis Lazuli. Where you place it is up to you. Do you know where the Elders and the Chosen Regents are located?
What happens if my character is hurt badly? If that happens you have a few choices. 1. You can wait until you can heal on your own. With very deep wounds this may lead to long term weakness. 2. Get our coven healer to heal your character. Lyssum may seem scary and wierd but she is one of the best healers out there (She has had many years of practice) and she is always on guard to heal those who need it. Don't let your character die because they are too proud to ask for help.
I don't want to RP with my Oc anymore... what do I do? Awww. Okay. We all have had that happen when Rping, we do not wish to RP a character anymore, we understand. If this happens to you all you need to do is either kill your character off or make your character leave the coven. You can do this by RPing it in a thread or simply leaving a letter.
Once you have done that we will ask you to remove your app and skill wheel from the group, you do not have to delete it permanently. All of your art may stay within the group.
Are all the rumours about garlic, crosses and stakes real? *Scoffs* Noooo. Just some pathetic excuses made by hunters that have failed to kill us but needed something to tell others to save their own behinds. None of that stuff really effects us.
Though I must warn you... A stake to heart may kill... but then again, so would a knife to the heart
Do vampires fear water? No. Not unless your character personally is afraid of water. Or they do not like to bathe....
Seeds? "One way to supposedly deter a vampire is to throw seeds (usually mustard) outside a door. Vampires are compelled to count the seeds or the holes in the net, delaying them until the sun comes up.".... This will only work if your character has OCD or is very VERY short attention span.
Are vampires really immortal? Yes and No.
Vampires will not die off old age, though full vampires may live longer than a half or a created.
But vampires can die of certain disease (The elder has blood poisoning from a Lycan) and can be killed by a fatal wound.
Do vampires sparkle? ...Get out.
NOW! If we are vampires... why do we have powers? Why not? Did you know that many scholars argue the word “vampire” is either from the Hungarian vampir or from the Turkish upior, upper, upyr meaning “witch.”
Is it true that Vlad was the start of all vampires? No. Gia was born 2500BC and she wasn't the first! Vampires go very far back. Though if you asked her she would say. "Vlad? Oh yeah, I remember him, Such a nice guy~"
How are turned vampires made? They are drained of their blood then fed the blood of their sire.
Why do Vampires and Lycans hate each other? According to many vampire rumours, the vampire and the werewolf are actually natural... I guess if you piss one off... you piss them all off.
Do vampires have a reflection? Of course. How else would Giacinto admire herself?
If sunlight is harmful... shouldn't the moon be too? No. Moonlight has far too little ultraviolet in it to do any damage - even to a vampire.
Can our characters have babies~? Technically yes. Pure vampires can, that is how you gain more pure bloods and Dhampirs. Dhampirs can as they are half human.Turned vampires can also have children but the child will be considerably weaker and infant mortality is very high. If you are thinking about having a child within the RP group, please remember that the child will be with you always and grows at the normal rate of a human child. You will be Rping with the child for many years.
Do vampires have white, blue or purple skin? Vampires tend to stay the same as when they where made/born. But it is possible, just as a human can, to change skin colour. Too little sunlight makes the skin pale, but if you are able to walk in the sun, your skin can tan. As for blue and purple skin, I guess it is possible if your character has a illness.
